HM supports sultanate’s efforts to combat coronavirus

H E Dr Ahmed bin Muhammad al Saidi, Minister of Health, confirmed that the Supreme Committee in charge of discussing the mechanism for dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) enjoys direct support  and attention from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

This was disclosed at a remote visual press conference of the Supreme Committee in charge of examining the mechanism to deal with developments resulting from the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 which was held today.

The minister announced that the cases of recovery have risen to 57 cases so far, noting that predictions and statistics confirm  that if you follow health guidelines and societal divergence, they will contribute to reducing the expected  cases by 60 percent when all join together.

He, however,  pointed out that the epidemic was still on an upswing and that the beds in the intensive care departments  in the sultanate’s hospitals may not be sufficient to accommodate cases if  the pandemic outbreak rises, calling on everyone to commit to and join hands.
