The lockdown shouldn’t let your hands and feet suffer. Care for them at home with stuff from the kitchen cabinet. A few simple steps with easy to get items will keep them soft and smooth.
Soak your hands and feet in lukewarm water to which a capful of mouthwash has been added. Alternatively, you could add a few drops of hand-wash, body-wash or shampoo. For an even fresh, minty sensation, thinly coat your hands and feet with toothpaste and let soak for ten minutes.
Remove hands/feet from water. If you had soaked them with the toothpaste pack on, take a loofah or a soft bristle brush and brush away the paste by adding little water at a time, giving extra attention to cuticles, between fingers/toes and soles. If you haven’t opted for the toothpaste pack, then mix sugar granules with a few drops of any natural oil and scrub in a circular motion. Press along the length and breadth of soles/palms to relax the muscles. Rinse and pat dry.
If you have unused sheet face masks, wrap them around feet/hands. If not, mix some lime juice and honey and use as mask. Three tablespoons of chickpea flour or finely ground oats mixed with a pinch of turmeric powder and a few drops of lemon juice combined with water make for a wonderful de-tanning mask.
Once dry, rinse off and pat dry. Moisturise well.
